Arequipa - Impressions of the White City
La Ciudad Blanca - the white city - Arequipa. For me as a german this is an incredible place. At an altitude of 2300 meters tropical palms are growing while the 6000 meter mountains in the background make a stunning wallpaper. The city offers plenty of a beautiful culture. Not without reason it is declared by the UNESCO to be world cultural heritage. Arequipa itself is worth a visit, but also serves as a hub to the close bye mountains and the spectacular colca canyon. However its growth is not only driven by the touristic importance, furthermore Arequipa is the economic center of southern Peru.
